It is customary to celebrate Friends Day on the first Sunday of August each year. This year, Friends' Day is celebrated on August 2.

This Friends Day was celebrated on different days in each country. In Ohio, for example, April 8 was Friends Day. The United Nations has declared July 30 as Friends Day. But Friends Day is celebrated on the first Sunday in August in various parts of the world, including the United States and India.

Friends Day History


Asked to celebrate World Friends Day in 1958. Before that it was Joyce Hall who created Friends Day. But even in the meantime greeting cards were all exchanged.

After receiving a good reception for Friends 'Day in the United States, Kofi Annan, then President of the United Nations, and his wife, Nane Annan, made the formal announcement of Friends' Day.

Friends' Day was celebrated on July 20 in Paraguay and Brazil. This day is celebrated in India, Nepal and South America by giving greeting cards, gifts, and bouquets.
